Acorns Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rainiers, 2-1
|
The Oakland Acorns, behind a great outing from Michael Crawford defeated the Seattle Rainiers, 2-1, at Oakland Ball Park. Oakland reliever Bob Brown picked up the win. Charlie Jackson, who is tied for 4th in the CL in strikeouts with 141, took the loss for Seattle. Oakland now has a record of 60-54 with the win.
Armando Torres was the walk-off hero for Oakland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Acorns left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This house was rockin'," Crawford said.
