Kansas City turned a good effort from starter Edward Hockenberry into a win over the Phoenix Fireballs at Arthur Bryant Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Kansas City is now 66-49.

Shawn Heard helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Jacks.

"Bottom line," said Phoenix skipper Jarien Smith, "we didn't play well enough to win."
