|
Seattle Rainiers starter Pedro Romero pitched well against the Oakland Acorns at Oakland Ball Park, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Romero got the win, improving to 11-9. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Kevin Banks locked down his 22nd save.
Gilberto Lugo, who finished 5th in the PL in extra base hits with 78 in 2008, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lugo contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Seattle up, 4-0.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Lugo.
The Rainiers improved their record to 70-44 by beating Oakland.
