Ironhorse Lose to Millers, 3-1
|
Minneapolis Millers starter Claude Larsen was in fine form against the Sacramento Ironhorse at Nicollet Park, leading his team to a win, 3-1. Larsen went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 9-8. Jesse Wynn converted his 17th save in 22 tries.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Minneapolis got a break when Larsen went to the plate. With no outs, the bases empty and the Millers trailing 1-0, Larsen hit a triple.
"Claude was Claude," said Millers manager . "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
Minneapolis, at 57-59, holds down 5th place in the Pioneer League North.
