The Sacramento Ironhorse got a strong performance from pitcher Dave Sackett. Porky stymied the Portland offense en route to a solid, 4-2 win at Ironhorse Stadium. José Beltrán recorded his 2nd save for Sacramento. The win moves Sacramento to a record of 6-5.

Sacramento center fielder Clint Porter contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 14th hit of the season and put the Ironhorse ahead, 4-0.

"We won," Sackett told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."
