The Seattle Rainiers beat the Reno Silver Sox, 7-3, at Alamo Park. Seattle left fielder Carlos Valenzuela, who finished 5th in the PL in doubles with 39 in 2013, collected 2 singles and 1 double with 1 RBI. Seattle, at 72-44, is 10½ games up in the Pacific Coast League North.

Robert Wright, who is a four-time All-Star, helped out the Seattle cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"It feels good to get this one," Wright told the Seattle Observer.
