Denver got a terrific game from second baseman Arthur Beard. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Hollywood, 8-4. Beard was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Hollywood reliever David Allen got the win, raising his record to 10-5. Emílio González was tagged with the loss. Hollywood is now 77-40, Denver 76-43.

Sean Womersley came through with a big-time hit for Hollywood. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Stars manager Scott B.
