Homer pitcher Barry Jennings had a large part in his team subduing the Long Beach Ports, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Homer pitcher Robert Rice got the win. He's now 4-12. Cristo Alvarado was tagged with the loss. With the win over Long Beach, the Yetis improved to 48-70.

Homer took a 4-2 lead on Chad Floyd's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Floyd hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Long Beach pitcher Cristo Alvarado visibly frustrated.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Floyd told a Homer Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
