Locusts Come Up Short at Reno, 4-3
The Reno Silver Sox dealt the Salt Lake City Locusts a 4-3 loss at Alamo Park. Manuel Garza, who finished 4th in the CL in batting average with .312 in 2008, was the star on offense. He went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Picking up the save was Leonard Burton, his 4th. Now 6-8, the Locusts have not played well this season.

Had Chad Castillo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Castillo hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Silver Sox.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Castillo told the Reno Bulletin. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
