Seals Roll Over Rainiers, 10-2

The San Francisco Seals put one in the win column on Opening Day at Ohlone Park. The Seals defeated the Seattle Rainiers, 10-2. San Francisco first baseman Jeff Brown was instrumental in his team's success. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Cornell Jenkins, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 1-0.
Cory Black had a big run-scoring triple for the Seals in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Francisco leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from fan favorite Pedro Romero and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Seals ahead, 3-1.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Black said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
