Millers Win, 2-1, at Salt Lake City

Crowds lined up early in front of Derks Field, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2016 Big Sky Baseball season. On the mound was Ernesto Rivera for the visiting Minneapolis Millers and Shawn Clark for the hometown Salt Lake City Locusts. In a spirited contest, the Millers pulled out the win, defeating the Locusts by the score of 2-1. Especially impressive was Ernesto Rivera. The save was credited to Anthony Miskell, his 1st.
Campbell Broomhead, who led the CL in stolen bases with 88 in 2013, had a direct impact on the outcome. Broomhead contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Minneapolis up, 2-0.
"Some games build character," said Minneapolis manager Bob T. "Like this one."
