San Francisco beat Portland on the strength of starting pitcher Emory Burch's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. The Seals keep rolling, raising their record to 11-6.
The Seals got a big at-bat from shortstop Orlando Alvelo. For the game, Alvelo went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave San Francisco a 2-0 lead.
"Emory throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said San Francisco manager Jamming Econo.
