Minneapolis Ruins Terrific Game by Lugo
Kansas City and Minneapolis took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

Minneapolis got a terrific game from center fielder Gilberto Lugo. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kansas City, 8-7. Lugo was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Mario Encarnación collected save number 3.

Miguel Reséndez, who leads the PL in bases on balls with 20, chipped in a run-scoring sacrifice fly for Kansas City in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Marcus Jelks.

The Millers, now 6-12, continue their sluggish start.
