The Hollywood Stars defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 5-4, in 10 innings. Much of the credit belonged to shortstop Mike Cardenas, who went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Stars. Jerry Álvarez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The loss has the Angels at 10-10.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Hollywood center fielder Carlos Ramos, facing Steve MacKinley, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Stars the 5-4 win.
