Rodríguez Lifts Lone Stars to 5-2 Win
The Houston Lone Stars trumped the New Orleans Pelicans, 5-2, at Hogg Field. Houston center fielder Miguel Rodríguez was terrific. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Jason Stewart got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The loss makes New Orleans 2-1.

Rodríguez contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Houston get the win.

Houston manager Eric Benson called it "a good, solid win."
