The Phoenix Fireballs converted a terrific effort from starter Daniel Rocha into a win over the Salt Lake City Locusts at Derks Field. The Fireballs won the game by a final score of 5-1. Rocha yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-0. With the loss, Salt Lake City drops to 9-13.

Phoenix used a clutch at-bat from Diego Hernández to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fireballs ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Rocha attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
