The Las Vegas Strip defeated the Reno Silver Sox, 6-1. Right Fielder Jorge Mendoza deserved a large share of the credit. Mendoza went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Strip. At 2-1, the Strip have played well so far.
Early in the game, Mendoza had a 2-run home run for Las Vegas. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Strip on top, 2-0.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Mendoza told the Las Vegas Observer, "and we played pretty well tonight."
