Ports Take Nail-Biter Over Stars
The Long Beach Ports did just enough to secure a victory over the Hollywood Stars, 7-6, in 10 innings at Tapatio Park. Nobody did more than left fielder Carlos Valenzuela. Jim Rogers notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. The Stars, 11-12, continue their so-so start to the 2016 season.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Valenzuela hit a fastball from Jerry Álvarez for a run-scoring double. The Ports, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Valenzuela told the Long Beach Bulletin.
