The Duluth Dukes did little to support starter Gary Miller against the Odessa Oilmen, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Oilmen, striking out 8 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Miller allowed Duluth to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Gary, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Miller told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

So far this season, Miller has a 3-6 record, 9 starts, 58.2 innings, 65 strikeouts and a 3.84 ERA.
