Breakers Score Late to Nip Ironhorse, 2-1

The San Diego Breakers topped the Sacramento Ironhorse, 2-1, in Pacific Coast League action at Ironhorse Stadium. The standout performance belonged to San Diego pitcher and Montreal, Canada, native Harry Doiron. San Diego reliever Paco Juárez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Luis Rivera. San Diego, with the win, is 2-0.
San Diego used the timely hitting of Hunter Gilmore to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Breakers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Good ballgame," said Sacramento manager RR Zayx. "But we came up on the short end."
