The Houston Lone Stars powered past the Las Vegas Strip, 9-4, at Banditos Ballpark. Manny Flores went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, to lead the charge. The Strip fall to 11-16 and continue their lackluster start to the 2016 season.

Houston won the game in part because of Gilberto Lugo. The center fielder ripped a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Lone Stars ahead, 6-1. For the game, Lugo had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Lugo. "You've got to get results."
