The Austin Cowboys and Reno Silver Sox were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Reno Silver Sox topped the Austin Cowboys, 8-3, in Pioneer League action at Clark Field. The standout performance belonged to Reno pitcher and Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico, native Nate Lindsey. Lindsey, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs.

In the top of the third, Jesús Salcido had a big 2-run double off Eric Richards. With the double, the Reno center fielder put his team in front, 2-0. He went 1-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the contest.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Salcido.

The Cowboys are now 11-18.
