Eagles Rebuff Stallions, 3-2

Nate Johnson could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his San Bernardino Stallions lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Dallas Eagles at Burnett Field. Fred Davis locked down his 7th save. The win gives Dallas a season record of 17-16.
Greg van Rossum had a big solo home run for the Eagles in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Dallas leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Nate Johnson, who is tied for 10th in the CL in quality starts with 4, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Eagles on top, 3-1.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said van Rossum.
