Stallions Turn Back Kansas City, 3-1
|
The San Bernardino Stallions got a magnificent effort from pitcher Phil Prosser, who kept Kansas City hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Stallions win at Perris Hill Park. The winning pitcher was Prosser, now 1-1. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. The Stallions sport a record of 13-21.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Mason Griffin was at the plate when San Bernardino scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Stallions to go in front, 2-1.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Prosser.
