Fans saw a dandy of a game between the San Diego Breakers and Minneapolis Millers.
Hurler Rod Lee gave the San Diego Breakers a solid start. The native of Austin, Texas helped his team defeat the Minneapolis Millers, 3-2, at Perris Hill Park. Lee yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-2. José Romero closed it out for San Diego, earning his 8th save.
Jerry Bilbrey, who is tied for 7th in the CL in doubles with 10, aided the San Diego cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 3 with 2 singles.
"Rod threw the ball very, very well," said San Diego manager RT Smith.
San Diego is in 4th place in the Pacific Coast League South with a record of 15-19.
