In a low-scoring game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Austin Cowboys, pitcher Ronnie Gordon was masterful on the mound. The New Orleans right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Gordon, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks. Dan Williams finished to wrap up his 10th save.

The Pelicans got a big at-bat from catcher Toby Harvey. For the game, Harvey was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave New Orleans a 2-0 lead.

"Ronnie did a tremendous job," said New Orleans manager Day Breaker.

The second-place Pelicans now have a record of 21-19.
