Kansas City Loss Takes Shine Off Ruíz Performance
Kansas City left fielder António Ruíz was sensational. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Reno beat the Jacks, 13-8. Dani Gómez, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Reno now owns a record of 24-23.

Reno used the hitting of Dave Shaffer to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Silver Sox on top, 12-5. For the game, Shaffer had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Shaffer said.
