Breakers Win, 2-0
|
The San Diego Breakers picked up a win at Multnomah Stadium, downing the Portland Beavers, 2-0. On the mound for San Diego was left-hander Alex Dávila, who played a pivotal role in the win. Paco Juárez got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The win lifted the San Diego record to 24-23.
The Breakers got a big at-bat from shortstop Luis Peña. For the game, Peña went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave San Diego a 1-0 lead.
"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Dávila.
