Cowboys Snag 6-3 Win
The Cowboys grabbed a win, 6-3, at Nicollet Park, overcoming a fine effort from Minneapolis pitcher Ed Floyd. Floyd went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Austin starter Tomás Meléndez was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 8-1. The Cowboys win now puts them at 24-23.

Pat Franks came through with a big-time hit for Austin. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I thought we competed really well," said Cowboys manager John Kolman. "I thought the energy was really good."
