The Homer Yetis could not turn a fine performance from center fielder Sadahige Miyazaki into a win. Instead, the New Orleans Pelicans prevailed, 7-6, in 13 innings. Miyazaki hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Chris Miller, now 2-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Yetis, at 18-32, have lost 4 in a row.

The Pelicans got a clutch hit from second baseman Warren Porter. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Pelicans.

"We just never give in," said Porter. "We think we've got an opportunity as long as we have an at-bat and some outs left."
