Millers Lose By a Run at Homer
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Homer Yetis and the Minneapolis Millers, Edwin Miller was the X factor. The Homer right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Miller, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. The Yetis sport a record of 50-72.
Wayne Jones, who is tied for 7th in the PL in stolen bases with 23, helped out the Homer cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 1-3 with a walk.
"I'd like to pile on a few more wins before the end of the year," said Miller.
