Beavers Roll to 8-3 Win Over Aztecs
The Portland Beavers topped the Mexico City Aztecs, 8-3, with first baseman Kunitaro Rin playing a big role. Rin went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Beavers in the win. Francisco Leal, the winner, improved to 7-1. He held the Aztecs to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Beavers sit in second place in the Pacific Coast League North with a record of 67-56.

With Portland trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Rin hit a curveball from James Thomas for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Beavers ahead, 4-2.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Rin told the Portland Daily News, "and we played pretty well tonight."
