The Hollywood Stars used a great performance from Jesús Chávez, who finished 2nd in the CL in wins with 17 last year, to beat the Los Angeles Angels, 2-1, at Gilmore Field. David Allen sewed up the save, his 24th. Hollywood has now won 4 games in a row.

Had Ramiro López not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, López hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Stars.

López attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
