Beavers Rally to Win
|
Multnomah Stadium was the site of some high drama.
Due in large part to right fielder Ed Lott, the Portland Beavers sunk the Mexico City Aztecs, 7-6. Lott was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Scott Witt picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Alfredo García, who finished 2nd in the CL in saves with 34 in 2009, was tagged with the loss.
The Beavers got a clutch hit from third baseman Ray Tate. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Beavers.
"What a great game, great atmosphere," Tate said.
The loss makes Mexico City 56-69.
