The Minneapolis Millers got a good effort from starter Ernesto Rivera in defeating the Dallas Eagles at Nicollet Park. The final score was 12-1. The 5th-place Millers have a record of 59-70.

Juan Acevedo had a big 2-run double for the Millers in the bottom of the first inning. With Minneapolis leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 32-year old left-handed pitcher Norberto Cabrera and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Millers ahead, 4-0.

"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Dallas skipper Cameron J. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
