Both teams had their chances, but the Las Vegas Strip eventually prevailed.

The Las Vegas Strip defeated the Homer Yetis, 6-5, in part because of right fielder Jorge Mendoza. Mendoza was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Strip. Héctor Peña earned the win to go to 6-16. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with 5 walks and 9 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.

Had Jay Hill not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hill hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Strip.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Hill.

The triumph makes Las Vegas 38-92.
