Vázquez Goes Deep Twice, Helps Seals Top Acorns, 8-7
In a tight contest at Ohlone Park, the San Francisco Seals edged the Oakland Acorns by the score of 8-7. San Francisco right fielder Juan Vázquez, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Lee Graves recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 5 for 6. The Seals saw their win-loss record go to 64-67. At the same time, the Acorns fell to 62-69.

There were several reasons the Seals beat the Acorns, but one factor was Otto Reed. In the bottom of the seventh, the San Francisco third baseman came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 6-5 lead.

"We found a way to get it done," Vázquez said.
