The home crowd had a good time watching the San Diego Breakers and Los Angeles Angels get after it.

The Los Angeles Angels had no problem beating the San Diego Breakers, 11-3, at Wrigley Field. Joe Jackson led the way. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI for Los Angeles. Brian Gaines, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 3.

Doug Moss had a big 2-run home run for the Angels in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Los Angeles trailing 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Bobby McCarthy, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2002 draft, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Angels on top, 4-3.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Los Angeles manager David K.

The win puts Los Angeles at 4-1.
