The Minneapolis Millers beat the Las Vegas Strip, 12-5, at Nicollet Park. Minneapolis right fielder Kenny Lawrence collected 3 singles and 1 double with 1 RBI. Las Vegas is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.

The Strip had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Millers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the fan favorite Chris Valadez came to the plate. Valadez hit a 2-run double on a first pitch slider from Las Vegas hurler Roberto González. It was Valadez's 16th double of the year.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Las Vegas manager Charlie Donovan.
