The Portland Beavers topped the San Francisco Seals, 10-0, in Pacific Coast League action at Multnomah Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Portland pitcher and Manhattan, New York, native Robbie McDaniel. The 5th-place Beavers go to 60-74.

Jim Poole hit a 2-run home run off Luis Alvarado in the bottom of the first, which put the Beavers ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Poole had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.
