José Hernández helped his team muscle past the Phoenix Fireballs, 13-6. In the game, the Denver right fielder was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. Gonzalo García earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 3-1. Denver used a clutch at-bat from Bobby Woods to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Hernández told the Denver News. "You win just by scoring more runs."

The first-place Grizzlies, at 86-51, now lead their division by 7 games.
