Mexico City Aztecs starter Robert Simons hurled his team past the San Jose Owls, 4-2. Alfredo García recorded the save, making him 34 for 37. The 4th-place Owls have lost 5 straight games.

Júlio Pérez dealt the Owls a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Mexico City leading 1-0, Pérez hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Mexico City skipper Jaime Martinez.
