Austin took on Dallas in front of a lively crowd.

The Austin Cowboys knocked off the Dallas Eagles, 6-3, in Pioneer League action at Burnett Field. Austin pitcher and Memphis, Tennessee, native Larry Barber had an outstanding performance. The win for the Cowboys lifted their record to 71-66.

There was more than one reason the Cowboys beat the Eagles, but Barber's big at-bat in the top of the fourth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

Barber called the win "a team effort."
