Mendoza Hits 2 home runs in Lone Stars Win
The Houston Lone Stars beat the Reno Silver Sox, 5-4, in part because of left fielder Domingo Mendoza. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Rubén Rodríguez converted his 28th save in 34 tries. The Pioneer League South-leading Lone Stars are 79-60.

Mendoza had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 3-0 fastball from Gabriel Ordóñez, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Lone Stars a 5-4 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Mendoza.

"I still think this team can play even better," Mendoza told the Houston Citizen.
