Acorns Get One-Run Win at Portland
|
The Oakland Acorns faced a tough opponent in Portland pitcher Daniel Rocha, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Multnomah Stadium by a final score of 6-5. Rocha went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Robinson Pérez recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 27 for 27. The 4th-place Acorns improved to 63-75.
Nick Meyers, the 24-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Meyers contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put Oakland up, 6-0.
In postgame comments to the Oakland Daily, Meyers said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
