Both offenses were relatively subdued at Estadio Tenochtitlan. Fortunately for the Mexico City Aztecs, though, Rafael Costa was able to deliver in the clutch. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, to lead his team past the Los Angeles Angels, 3-2. Alfredo García collected save number 14. Mexico City currently is in 5th place in the Pacific Coast League North at 23-30.

Costa had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 splitter from Jason Browning, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Aztecs a 2-1 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Costa.

"We busted our tails," said Los Angeles manager David K. "But we came up short."
