Houston Earn 9-6 Victory at Jellystone Park
The rain came, as predicted, but the Houston Lone Stars and Denver Grizzlies were able to complete their ballgame.

The Houston Lone Stars withstood a fine game by Denver second baseman Wally Ross at Jellystone Park, to upend the Grizzlies, 9-6. Ross went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Kevin Banks earned the save for Houston, his 13th.

Houston used a clutch at-bat from Jed Thomas to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Lone Stars ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"This team keeps racking up the wins," said Lone Stars manager Eric Benson.

The second-place Lone Stars have won 7 straight.
