The Kansas City Jacks defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 6-3, in part because of right fielder Mike Ruíz. Ruíz went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Jacks. Kansas City pitcher Morgan Hannah got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jerry Beckmann got the loss. Héctor Zúñiga earned the save for Kansas City, his 1st.

Ruíz had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Jerry Beckmann, he banged a 2-run triple to right-center, giving the Jacks a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Ruíz.

Ruíz said his team "played with focus."

The first-place Jacks have a one-game lead in their division.
