In an outstanding mound performance, Hutchinson Salt Hawks starter Cecil Ferguson fired a complete-game shutout against the San Jose Foghorns at Hobart-Detter Field.
Ferguson was the key to the 3-0 Hutchinson win. The 22-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 4 hits and 2 walks he allowed.
"4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
To this point in the season Ferguson has 7 wins and 2 losses and a 2.87 ERA.
