Beavers Get 4-0 Win Versus Seattle
Portland and Seattle put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Portland Beavers defeated the Seattle Rainiers, 4-0, in Pacific Coast League action at Multnomah Stadium. Portland pitcher Francisco Leal had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Leal, now 1-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Scott Witt collected save number 7.

Portland right fielder Ed Lott contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 76th hit of the season and put the Beavers ahead, 2-0.

Lott called the win "a pick-me-upper."

At 25-31, the Beavers claim 4th place in the Pacific Coast League North.
